The 6219/C3VL0241 SKF is an electrically insulated deep groove ball bearing (INSOCOAT ball bearing). A special coating on the outer ring (VL0241) protects against bearing damage and eventual failure due to the passage of electric current.
Electrically insulated bearings are marketed by SKF under the name INSOCOAT. The VL0241 indicates the addition of an aluminium oxide coating on the outer ring to withstand voltages up to 1.000 V DC. An equivalent of this 6219/C3VL0241 SKF is the 6226-J20AA-C3 from FAG, which can withstand voltages up to 3.000 V DC.
